School Life
Welcome to the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year! This year will be filled with a wide array of opportunties both in and out of the classroom. What makes life here so fun is that students are always eager to engage with each other and the surrounding community by starting and sustaining stimulating discusisons in their student clubs, in student council, or via their community service learning projects.

We're already enjoying having the Class of 2014 on campus - they are kind, excited, and happy to spend time together. Each class brings their own personality and shapes the school in a unique way so we're eager to see how the Class of 2014 emerges starts to leave it's mark.
This fall will be filled with community events like plays, art shows, field hockey games, cross-country races, and lively all school meetings. We hope that you can find some time to join us and watch how students live out different parts of the UHS mision statement and demonstrate how: "together we work to build and sustain a community of diverise backgrounds, perspectives, and talents."
As always, students at UHS are encouraged to explore their interests in and out of the classroom. We believe that each student is a leader who has the potential to influence the school community. Whether
you decide to join a club or participate in student government or work
as a peer advisor, we believe that every student has a special
perspective or skill to share with our school. A key part
of being an engaged member of our school is learning to stand up for
ideas that you believe in while maintaining respect for people who do
not share your same perspective. As leaders on the sports
field, in all school meetings or on stage, students are celebrated for
their diverse talents and are encouraged to approach all aspects of
their school life filled with curiosity and integrity.
Please come by my office or see Carol Coles with any questions or concerns.
